Huntingdon House Resident

A place you can call home

Specialising in nursing and residential care, Huntington House is truly a place you can call home. When you visit us, the first things you’ll see and sense are the personalities of every resident at Huntington House.

This is because we believe that a bedroom should not be the only room people living in Huntington House can recognise as their home. Everyone has the ability to make their mark throughout Huntington House, so you will find treasured possessions carefully placed around our wonderful house, filling our home with love, character and joy.

We recognise that the perception of a Care Home can be it is very task-orientated with daily box ticking, e.g. “Make the bed”, “Give them breakfast”, “Medication administered”, but that is not how we like to live together.

We value individuality, emotional intelligence, domestic living and respect that we all have a story to share and personal approach to living.  That is why everyone living in Huntington House has their own special life to live with meaning each day and our role is to support them to write the next chapter of their story.

A Dragonfly Care Home

The Dragonfly approach caters for all care cultures, such as palliative care, mental health, learning disability, and health and social care. Developed by Meaningful Care Matters, the Dragonfly approach is about the ‘whole person’. While traditional care focuses primarily around clinical needs, the Dragonfly approach gives control back to the person who is being cared for and values the person on an emotional and social level, meaning each person is “free to be me”.

An All-Inclusive Home with Luxury Surroundings

All of our 35 bedrooms at Huntington House come with en-suite bathrooms, along with internet access, telephone and television points. Grand and tasteful, our inviting home has comfortable, luxurious lounges and a conservatory, where people enjoy different activities at their own leisure and pace.

In the home, and at no extra cost, is a hair salon, chiropodist, a resident’s bar, kitchenette, and a lovely dining room where everyone enjoys the beautiful, freshly cooked meals provided by our resident chef.

Huntington House is set within 30-acres of the family estate.  We have beautiful gardens, with the wheelchair accessible paths ensuring all of the estate is accessible for our residents to enjoy, so they’re able to take in the breath-taking views; walk the grounds and discover the horses, ponies, sheep, pond-life and the vast array of wildlife.

People living here also benefit from a daily newspaper and regular trips out and about in Surrey and further afield (if they wish), as well as on-site activities, which include gardening, baking, pet therapy, light exercise and crafts, with our programme varying from week-to-week.

"Huntington House and all the staff have provided fabulous care for my mother throughout the years she has been here. Everyone is considerate, kind and compassionate to a degree that makes one realise it is not just an institution. My mother is incredibly fortunate to be here. The food and facilities and entertainment are all excellent."
