The Huntington & Langham Estate is centred on my mother’s ethos – with a passionate approach to elderly care, my mother, Marilyn, opened Huntington House in 1978 and is still hands-on with staff and residents to this day. Now, with my sister Sarah and I at the helm, and my dad, Geoff, on hand to help too, our family and our expert team maintain the highest standard of care, with compassion at the heart of it all, as has been the case for more than 40 years.

At the Huntington & Langham Estate, we don’t just offer high-quality care – we care with compassion and our homes are packed with character. With thoughtful touches dotted around everywhere and staff who really are passionate about what they do, we’re proud to be one of the best care homes in Surrey, and when you visit, we hope you’ll agree. But how did we get here?
Well, it was all the way back in 1978 that my mother, Marilyn, turned her dreams into reality here by opening her very own care home with people at the heart of it. Tired of seeing homes offering substandard care without compassion, she wanted to change how things worked – and Huntington House is the product of that, still offering that same high-quality care it did on day one to the people of Liphook, Grayshott and Haslemere.
When you step foot into Huntington House, it really does feel like you’re walking into a family home – and that’s because you are. Four generations of the Hoare family have lived here, and that warmth and cosiness is felt in every room and through every member of our hand-picked team. That’s why our motto is ‘Let our family look after yours’.
In our more modern history, Langham Court was built in 2013 as a specialist dementia care home, designed to operate with pioneering dementia care in the form of the Butterfly Project; this evidence-based approach makes a real difference to the lives of people with dementia and enables us to provide real quality in dementia care, allowing residents to live as they would at home but within a safe environment.
Both homes on the Huntington & Langham Estate are special in their own way – why don’t you come and see for yourself? Get in touch today to organise your personal tour around Huntington House, Langham Court and our beautiful grounds.
With a rich 40-year history centred on family values and compassionate care, let our family look after yours. We hope you like what you see when you visit the Estate.
Huntington House and Langham Court are nestled on a 30-acre Estate, bursting with greenery and teeming with wildlife, including horses, sheep and chickens near the homes and a wide variety of wild birds in the woodland. There are several beautiful walking routes through the Estate if you’d like to explore, and we’re just a stone’s throw from Hindhead Commons and the Devil’s Punch Bowl too.
The stunning Victorian house, known as Huntington, was carefully renovated by my mother, Marilyn, back in 1977 and has since undergone many extensions and maintenance to keep it looking fresh, contemporary and homely, but still with many of its original features. These days, it enjoys a fantastic reputation, with a fantastic rating on carehome.co.uk, which we’re delighted with.
Langham Court was built into a slope in 2013, giving it two ground floors so that residents on both levels benefit from access to the beautiful gardens, along with stunning views of the horse fields and forest through their floor-to-ceiling windows. Its grass-covered roof helps it to seamlessly blend into its surroundings, complementing the natural landscape. Better yet, the Care Quality Commission have rated it as ‘Outstanding’, highlighting the top-class care our expert team provides.
A real family affair, The Huntington & Langham Estate has been home to four generations of my family. That’s why we believe that a large part of our care is down to the way we live, which is just like a large family, complete with long-serving staff and cherished residents – my sister and I grew up here and helped by mowing the lawns and washing up as teenagers, and now our kids are growing up here too.
The Huntington & Langham Estate is ideally located just off the A3 and bordering three counties – Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire. Our Estate is just outside the charming village of Grayshott, complete with many shops, tea rooms, restaurants and amenities, and just a stone’s throw from Liphook and Haslemere too. If you live nearby and are looking for the ideal place for yourself or your loved one to live in a safe environment with high-quality care, why don’t you come and see us and have a look around? There’s plenty of parking here and of course, a very warm welcome. Let our family look after yours.
