Our Care

A different approach to caring

We don’t just consider care – we consider happiness and wellbeing too, and as part of that, we’re surrounded by greenery and wildlife in our 30-acre Estate.

We believe that a large part of our care is down to the way we live, like a large family, complete with long-serving staff and the people who live here, true family values are at the heart of all that we do.

Going above and beyond

Our team truly believe in what we do here, and everyone is willing to go above and beyond to make the lives of people living here as healthy, happy and fulfilling as possible.

We believe that caregiving should be meaningful for everyone involved and with the person centred care approach we take both caregivers and our residents flourish together.  Nothing matters more to us than to give every member of our households a meaningful day, every single day.

By building individual relationships with each resident our team gain an in depth understanding of what matters the most to each individual, how they prefer to live their lives, what their interests and hobbies are making each relationship unique.

Good home cooked meals

We recognise that mealtimes and quality of meals are very important, so our trained chefs prepare nutritionally balanced dishes to a very high standard.

Delicious and appetising meals are prepared in our fully equipped and modern kitchen using fresh local ingredients and seasonal produce wherever possible. There is a varied menu with a choice of dishes. Menus are provided daily for residents to select their preferred courses.

A pre-luncheon sherry or fruit juice is offered both in the lounge or private rooms and is also an opportunity for residents to meet and socialise with each other.  Although meal times are set, residents can choose when to eat at a reasonable time acceptable to them and the Chef.  Hot and cold drinks and snacks are available 24 hours a day.

Meaningful moments every day

Our activity organisers are called Homemakers. Together with our residents, they plan our programme of activities, outings and events. This looks to offer a wide variety of activities including creative past times, quizzes, games, seated exercises, musical performances and trips out in our minibus.

Our carers provide social and recreational activities for a set period each day for those who are unable to attend or do not wish to take part in the main activity. Hand massage, reading a newspaper, writing letters or walks outside in a wheelchair when weather permits, are some of the activities our carers can provide.
